'Euphoria' Trailer: HBO's Moody High School

HBO’s forthcoming high school drama Euphoria is definitely not cut from the same cloth as Pretty Little Liars, Dawson’s Creek or Saved by the Bell. Based on the teaser above, the drama starring Zendaya gets to the nitty-gritty of what it’s like to be in high school during 2019 and we will all get to witness it on June 16.

The premium cabler announced the premiere date of the first eight-episode season today via the teaser trailer. The show follows a group of high school students as they navigate drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love and friendship.

Joining Zendaya is an ensemble cast that includes Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, Algee Smith and Sydney Sweeney.

HBO picked up the drama series to pilot last year in July. All episodes created and written by Sam Levinson, who also serves as executive producer. Augustine Frizzell directed the pilot. Other executive producers include Drake, Future the Prince, Ravi Nandan, Kevin Turen, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, Ron Leshem, Daphna Levin, Tmira Yardeni, Mirit Toovi, Yoram Mokady, Gary Lennon and Jim Kleverweis. Produced in partnership with A24 and based on the Israeli series of the same name, which was created by Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin, from HOT.
