CBS and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers have reached a tentative agreement on a contract that if approved would be effective through January 2015, the two parties announced today. The current deal expires Jan. 31, 2012. “This new early agreement demonstrates the strength of the working relationship between CBS and the IBEW and reaffirms CBS’ commitment to the IBEW’s highly skilled work force,” CBS president and CEO Leslie Moonves said. The IBEW represents 2800 workers in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington DC, St. Louis, San Francisco, Dallas, Miami and Atlanta who service events televised on CBS Sports and CBS News. The contract — which includes a 2.5% pay raise this year, in 2013 and in 2014 — will be sent to union members for ratification, and the approval process should be completed by month’s end.
